Hi Benjamin

I've been a voyeur of this forum for quite a while but a quiet day in the office has allowed me the time and inclination to register and join in the fun!

I listened to your podcasts.. very interesting .. you sure do enjoy talking! Which is good. You seem to be the 'Daddy' of all things Pentax which is great news for the rest of us!

oh.. the question at hand... yes, a lighting workshop would be marvelous... how/where do you intend doing this?

Regards,
Christian

What I can do is draw illustrations, scan them and post here...I could also show you some of "Phil" Moscowitiz's techniques from the other Forum. You know, where technique "IS" photography. That lesson would take about "8" seconds, if your in a rush...Sorry..That was not nice.

None the less, what I will share with "Ya All" will be a bit unconventional and with the techniques, we will have to speak about "Open" mindsets regarding what is and what isn't a "Good" photo, because as far as I am concerned, that is a misnomer. Good and Bad photography is a purely subjective notion.

Sounds good. I don't actually have lights of my own but we have a couple at work I can use. They are just lights though... Photon beams... but no soft boxes, umbrellas or anything like that. Not sure what brand/types of stuff would fit on them. Maybe some tips on what lighting equipment to buy might be good? For me that would be CHEAP lighting equipment. A white/silver reflector seems to have turned un in the lights bag... must have been left behind by a photographer... result!

I am friends with a band who could do with some studio type shots. My flat could double as a studio I'm sure. Much cheaper than hiring. I'm in the process of coming up with ideas for a shoot for them. I have some natural light snaps of them that you can see on this page

http://www.myspace.com/jackmaggs

you can see some without signing in on the slideshow on the page... I did advise the 'stylists' (we borrowed some clothes from the Marie Claire offices) to not use white or stripey tops but they insisted... we were all very very VERY hungover to be fair. We'll be improving on these shots in the near future!

Any ideas would be appreciated!

Funny thing is I was just thinking this samething. Well not so much a lighting worksop, but a workshop in general with you as the host. Man, what a gift you are to this forum, thanks Ben.
