I caught part of the film "I'm Not Rappaport" on TV earlier this week.
About ten minutes in Walter Matthau is seen using a small camera.
The Pentax name is obscured but I'm sure it's a Pentax Auto 110.

Yes, I saw it, but it was only visible for a moment.

Funny, I've only ever noticed Nikons. The best is when I've seen them use a D200 like it had liveview.

I usually only watch CSI Vegas. They must have a contract with Nikon. I just think it is funny that all the views they show ( as if we are looking thru the viewfinder) with the metering information show Sunny 16 settings (f16 1/125 ISO 100) even though they typically shoot there crime scene in environments with EV ~1! I knew that Nikon has a great metering system but c'mon.

In the film documentary by Ewan McGregor and Charlie Boorman, 'Long Way Round', they give credit to using Petax cameras for the still shots. However, in their next adventure they switched to Canon.

Subsequent to watching and reading both of those exciting motorbike adventures I am reading what Ewan McGregor called his inspiration for 'Long Way Round'; Ted Simon's "Jupiter's Travels". On October 1973 Mr. Simon set out from London England on a motorbike with the lofty goal of traveling around the globe. With him he brought 2 Pentax cameras and dozens of rolls of film. Maybe Ewan was copying Ted or it could be just coincidence.

The movie 'Milk' has Dan Nicoletta sporting a Pentax in a few scenes. Along with various other vintage gear here and there.

The first time I ever really thought of or noticed Pentax as a camera brand was while watching "Don't Look Back" the old Bob Dylan movie. I noticed the journalists all shooting Pentax cameras and I wondered whatever happened to that brand. I looked them up and saw they where still making cameras and ended up with a K100D and a Superprogram.

I was watching that episode the other night. I damn near jumped out of my chair yelling, "Hey! It's a Spottie!"

My wife's eyes rolled up into her head. 'Whatever'.

I just saw “An Education” in a theater, a British movie taking place in 1961/62.
A Pentax camera makes a brief appearance, possibly a SV? It was also too fast to make out which lens, but you could tell it as a Takumar.

Best check it out on DVD, where you can freeze the scene.

Phil.
