Hi! All,

Did you realise that the "most number of users online at a time" has changed 3 times in the last 2-3 days?

It is also true that we crossed the 400 mark yesterday and are now close to the 500 mark.

Guess whats happening. More people are coming to our site.

Also note that the number of members is considerably lesser than the visitors at most times.

People just waiting to hear about the new offerings. Guess that could explain why things have been moving so slow around here.

There are some blogs that discuss camera related news and rumors that point to rumor discussion threads on here ... it's a vicious circle.

Just joined up a few days ago...seems like a great place!

People need to register instead of lurk...forums are so much more fun when you're in the conversation rather than listening to them.

dpreview forums have relic UI, pdml (mailing list) is even worse in terms of usability

hehe, it should be interesting to see how the several year members are going to adapt/act when they see the 9th thread started asking the same question as eight other active threads on the same topic instead of clicking Search > New Threads or Todays Threads, or just performing a search for a the very same terms they put in their title...

This has been the most patient forum I've ever frequented, and I've frequented many and I'm thankful for the answers earlier on when I did similar after not being able to find what I needed after a search.

Looks like Adam/Mo might be a victim of his own success:

"Most users ever online was 528, Today at 03:19 PM."
with about 469 users on presently.

Which might explain the minutes to execute an action presently such as a load of a thread, search or post. What's more notable is how more loading on the server causes a cascade of more concurrent users, as it takes longer for every action to complete, thus slowing down response all the more. Oh well. I guess more folks need to press the 'donate' link so increased capacity/time-slices isn't all coming out of Adam's pocket.
