duties between canada and us

Hi guys,

anybody knows how much would the duties be if i have 3 lenses shipped from Canada to US? I have an uncle who would be getting me the lenses then i asked him to ship it over.
what would be the best courier? me thinking it's FedEx, but maybe someone has other ideas?
thanks in advance!

Since there's no duty on photo gear coming into Canada from the US, I imagine there'd be no duty going to the USA either. Taxes and brokerage fees are another matter.

Whenever I have the option, I always choose to have stuff shipped by FedEx. I'm not a fan of UPS. No horror stories, but I just find the delivery times too unpredictable. FedEx is to my door by 10:00 AM, always.

I've bought a couple of lenses from Canada and have never had to pay any duties or taxes on them. One came via Canada Post and the other came via UPS. Between the 2, I prefer UPS for receiving stuff because they tend to update their package tracking more than the PO does.

UPS brokerage fees sometimes bring the price through the roof. I'd go with Canada Post. They NEVER lose anything that is insured.

Depending how FAST you want the items. I've never had problems going in either direction via Canada Post slash USPS.

P'graphic equipment is NOT dutable what you might pay is Fed/State sales taxes or brokerage fees.
