Hilarious - Tanker Spill Interview

Supposedly the guy being interviewed is a real Australian cabinet ministers, maybe Australian members of the forum can confirm this is true or not.
Anyway, I found it hilarious (and frighteningly believable).

Not real. They're two political satirists who regularly appear on TV: John Clarke (acting as the Politician) & Brian Dawe (acting as the Interviewer).

As dosdan said it was political satire. In fact I have just been watching their weekly TV segment on the ABC's (Australia) nightly current affairs program.

Mind you, I think they do most politicians an injustice by making them look half-way 'intelligent'

Finally, something funny that doesn't involve personal injury or sexual innuendos.

Ok, this was politcal satire.

But much more funny stuff is a real speech from former prime minister of Bavaria, Edmund Stoiber, the famous "10 minutes" speech:

YouTube - Stoiber 10 Minuten Transrapid

(caution: German language, no video)

More than a few people in Germany can repeat the speech literally and there are quite some rap songs which were created from it.

That is funny! Very good. Reminds me of how much I miss the old Monty Python Show.

Damn Brit.

The bald guy ain't even Australian.

I don't know how many times I've seen this posted by a Yank or Brit or whoever with the tag, "OMG this is real ausie politicians!"

For some background on the interview, see this video.

There's another one, involving a ship and a dead whale, that also got some people fooled.

WAIT! Found it here! (The Channel Ten news bit is a real clip, from another channel.)

My favourite is School Blues, because Dawe nails the condescending, "you've-got-a-lot-of-potential" teacher (the "laughed out of court" line has been delivered to me in the exact same way, many times before) and Clarke nails the chastened student. I know. Believe me.

Another is Clarke and Dawe on the ordinary voter. Brilliantly written. "Up the gearing highway...it's a lovely place to bring up petrol prices." "And you've been polled recently?" "No, this is just a new pair of trousers."

You want more Clarke & Dawe, hit up Youtube and look for a user called beanisacarrot.

Clarke and Dawe are on every Thursday night at the end of the [ur=http://www.abc.net.au/7.30/7.30_clarkedawe.htm]7:30 Report[/url]. Dawe always plays the interviewer, the straight man, and Clarke plays the interviewee, the funny man. While Clarke never changes his accent, he is always referred to by the name of whoever he's satirising.

And, before the Kiwis get pissed, Clarke's a Kiwi, we stole him in much the same way the US stole Shatner. Unfortunately, he was part of a package deal and we were forced to take Russell Crowe along with him. Efforts to repatriate Crowe have not been successful; currently, Australia is seeking his extradition from the United States.

These two are brilliant comedians/satirists. They did a series on the Governments organising of the Sydney Olympic Games. Was one of the funnies things you could ever watch. They are brilliant.

Yeah you can keep Mr Crowe, but John Clarke is awesome, a really funny guy. Originally came known here as "Fred Dagg", as in "Bit of a ..".
