Good photog AND gaming monitor?

I currently own 2x 22" Samsung 226BW LCD (S pannel).

While I was always a gamer, I started as a website designer and programmer. Hence the dual LCD- makes everything easy. On top of it all the 226BW is a great PC gaming monitor.

Since I started photog seriously about a year ago I keep finding 22" is too small. A 27" or 30" would make PP so much easier with more available space.

I've been building gaming rigs for years and know my way very well around computers. I currently own a top of the line, watercooled gaming system. Same for monitors, I know what to look for when it comes to gaming.

Photog however, is an area I am less experienced with and I humbly ask your help in the shopping of a new monitor.

For less than 3000$, which monitor would you recommend that would suit my photog editing needs and gaming frenzies as well?

From what I have read and heard, the EIZO is the monitor that many top professionals use. They are pretty expensive and can cost $5000 USD or more. I have never even seen one in the computer stores but Amazon is showing a couple of models for arond $500 USD.

the only important thing about a gaming monitor is response time, if its faster than 4ms you're good to go.
