First Sony A900 Ad Leaked - UPDATED - Now with REAL SPECS Photography Bay | Digital Camera Reviews, News and Resources

haven't read a thing about it and now all of a sudden ads pop up and a release date of sept 10th. Looks interesting. Hmm, if sony has a FF camera, sensor, is pentax going to use the same sensor?

I think the Sony FF model has been expected for a while. They even released an updated Zeiss 24-70 f/2.8 at the end of last year.

I don't think we can make any inference that Pentax FF is on the way, and the Sony sensor connection desn't indicate much either--for one thing, latest 14mp Pentax sensors were Samsung-sourced, rather than Sony. Nikon's full-frame sensors also may be different than what Sony will include in the A900.

Given Sonys relationship with Nikon,and the reason that Pentax needed Samsung to make their K20 chip, and Sony's rivalry with Samsung ... I doubt that we'll soon see a Pentax-Sony strategic partnership. There'd have to be something potentially very lucrative to make that happen. Certainly the niche 3rd player FF market isn't it.

I wouldn't rule it out - it just seems unlikely to me.

OMFG!!! i love the roof prism shape! thats what a real camera looks like!!!!!!!!!!

its pretty much the only reason i was so hesitant when i was upgrading from my pentax MX to the k20d.
