Regarding spam, shoe ads, etc

Please do not respond in the thread to it. They do not check to read the 1000's of forums they spam bot with that crap, they expect it to get banned off. All responding does it give it bold banner time for longer - understand that responding actually makes it more effective. Don't let the terrorists win! (lol).

Honestly I can't think of anyone stupid enough to actually click on those links.

No harm in poking a little fun at our own misfortune.

Well, if you check the backlinks to pentax forums, there are quite a few spam links for sure. Just for the sake of page rank

Spam is more than just e-mail. Sometimes it takes the form of off-topic posts with links to various Web site. There were several such posts today for shoes. The intent of the spam is two-fold:
  1. To enhance the target Web site's search engine rank
  2. As advertisement for product

When you see one of these bogus posts the best thing to do is to flag the thread or message for review as inappropriate content. The sooner this is done the better.
