Gotta disagree on Gran Torino. I thought it was horrendously acted (yes, including Clint, who just growled through the entire thing) and I thought the storyline was sort of insultingly predictable.

That said, it was pretty hilarious to watch him be completely over the top racist for two hours.

Nowhere near Unforgiven, which is a top film of all time. The more movies Clint directs, the more I think that one was a total fluke. (edit: though Letters from Iwo Jima was pretty good)

Best I've seen recently were A Christmas Tale (French film about a very dysfunctional family), Synecdoche New York (incredibly strange), Let the Right One In (very odd Swedish vampire film), Man on Wire (awesome documentary about an awesome feat), and I also liked Benjamin Button, even if it has serious problems at times.

Different strokes, I guess.

Gran torino was a great movie.

I think slumdog millionaire is one of the best movies in recent times, and mickey rourkes performance in the wrestler was just amazing.

Those are seriously 3 must see movies right there.

Just got home from seeing Gran Torino.
I'm a huge Clint Eastwood fan and I think Unforgiven was his best and one of the all time best movies. I didn't think Clint, himself, could beat Unforgiven.
I was wrong.
Ed in Ga is right.
This movie is a must see for Clint Eastwood fans and it's a must see for fans of really good movies.
Heather is right, worth every penny to see it on the big screen.
A perfect movie on so many levels.
