I've had an extremely runny nose now for over a week. Last night my teeth began to ache--I'm assuming I now have a sinus infection. I've also been extremely weak (some days more so than others). And last night I had a temperature just under 100 F. Oh, I tried, but couldn't fall asleep until after 5am last night due to the mouth pain. I don't know what I've got, but it's getting really annoying. I think tomorrow I'm going after antibiotics.

I seem to have a natural immunity to flu viruses.

Been in bed most of the day with severe sinus congestion and malaise...

So far no fever or other flu symptoms (fingers crossed)

Well, it's late April, the trees are budding and the grass is getting green. My sinuses are acting up also but I find a good dose of Claritin D works wonders along with some salt water nasal spray. I get flu shots every year and they seem to work.

They have had a few cases here in San Diego, but the way the local news is covering it you would think it is the start of "Captain Trips" disease...

Down by the border crossing to get across to Tijuana the other day I saw only one person with a mask. It will be interesting to see if it spreads here like it did in Mexico.

basically some new cooked up shit that is part human part bird and part pig flu is out, since no one is immunized, it can spread pretty quickly, but thanks to modern medicine, will be contained, but i have a feeling everyone is going to get it eventually.

as for its origin, everyone is shrugging their shoulders

but i did catch a news glimpse where they said that in mexico the government is passing a bill that anyone suspected of having the flu can be "taken into quarantine", even against their will...

i'm just going to go out and guess that its some sort of mexico-americano bio warfare tactic to bust down on the drug cartels.. but thats just me.

Bad timing, too. Here Spring has just begun, and everyone with allergy symptoms is gonna think it's killer flu...

how can you confuse a flu with allergies

unless your allergies generally paralyze you with nausea and high fevers....

the flu is not just some runny nose crap, its pretty serious business.

It is interesting that it's not deadly in the U.S.

I hope it stays that way.

I also hope that fear of Swine flu will get them to cancel finals....

Allergies are not just "stuffy noses". Many folks with bad spring allergies get lung congestion and fatigue when they flare up, which they could easily mistake for the start of the flu. If the media scares them enough, they will not want to take chances and will go to the doctor just to be sure.

My mother had allergies just awful. It was almost like the flu for her minus the hurling when it started up.
