Hi,
I am playing with the thought of selling my A* 135/1.8.
I initially baught it with the idea to use it for some concert photography but have never done so, always being too afraid to expose to the crowds. It therefore doesn't get enough use and I might not be able to rectify its possession any longer, especially as the last two I could find on Ebay went for $US 1400 and $US 1900 respectively. That kind of money I could really need to finance my other expensive hobby (need a new paraglider ). I have never sold anything on EBay and am hesitant to start with such an expensive item. I'd rather prefer to sell it to someone here.
The lens comes in its holster and is in mint condition. Don't have any pictures right now, but I could produce some by next week.
I am posting this to get an idea as to whether I would be able to sell to a member of the LBA family without having to go through the EBay hassle.
but I have a hard time letting go of this one, so wont do it for the price you offered, especially, as I have already received higher offers.
Thanks again for looking,
Torge

with all due respect, please don't turn the Market Place here into eBay.

Apologies for my inappropriate use of this Marketplace.
I guess I wanted to get a feel for the price I could ask for this lens without having to use EBay. It wasn't my intention to turn this forum in another auction site.

I should have read the PentaxForums.com Usage Guide before posting. Will use PM from now on.
Hope to post some pictures of the lens next week.

Since the item doesn't seem to be for sale any longer, I'm moving this thread to General Talk.
I gotta say this is one heck of a lens. Images, wide open, are creamy smooth and highlights take on a specular glow that really complements the shallow depth of field. I've read on the 'net that some people think wide open images are "soft". But I don't really think this is the case - the in focus parts of my images are scary sharp and the bokeh transition is oh so buttery smooth; maybe this is what is being criticized as "soft"? (Disclaimer: I'm not saying others are wrong, this is just not my experience).
The A*135 is superb for creative, shallow depth of field photography. A perfect pair-up for short, manual focus telephoto primes is to own both the A*85 and A*135.
