The Pentax Forum Member's Quote Thread!

Yep, that's right, as sanctioned officially by the United Natio- er Damn Brit, I hereby open The Pentax Forum Member's Quote Thread!

This is for the all the little gems our members come up with now again - the one-liners, the rants, the the tantrums, the random, unnecessary swearing (just so I'm in with a chance to get in here), witty repartée between members (I live for that!) and the little pearls of wisdom (cultured or otherwise.)

Chuck in a URL - the url of the thread, with #number of the post on the end - to skip to thread straight off, but so there's a chance to read it in context. Although many are funny without context.

And I'd like to kick it off with the post that inspired me to start this:

I grow weary of maps - Show me a road.
-GoldenWreckedAngle, on the Pentax Lens Roadmap.

I think it would be disrespectful not to post a quote from Lithos as it was his brilliant idea.
I didn't have to look far, this was one of the more family friendly quotes of his that tickled my funny bone.

Starbucks is dying in the arse down here, and rightly so. Misinterpretation of the local hot beverage culture.

I have to admit I probably dont agree with him most of the time but I found this one rather funny

"Gooshins guide to pissing people off while not giving a flying ****:

1. avoid direct insults with no explanation, particularly with people you have never dealt with. I call people idiots all the time, but i usually try to add an explanation as to why i think they are an idiot, unless we have been "forum comrades" for awhile, in which case no explanation is necessary."

I like this one from Igilligan after the entire discussion in a thread was deleted, but not the thread itself.

They delete the fish, but leave the bait on the hook?

Some kind of a Darwinian 'Catch and Release'

I think we are going to need a kind of 'quote form' to be put together like we have for listing an item on the marketplace for this to be really effective. then we can implement a type of easily searchable database by topic or member. what a great idea though. I have often said that this forum is full of the best wit and intelligence you are likely to find anywhere on the net.

I have several great quotes from Mike Cash, but alas no links back to the thread in which they originate. not sure I want to take the time and effort involved to gather those...

The "mutant" in this case was a bad photoshop job...
