This is not meant to mock nor be sarcastic.

Mr. ricehigh has started his own "forum" over at yahoo groups (or whatever).
I will most likely not join (for obvious reasons though I reserve the right to change my mind if there is something posted that is obviously "wrong"... opp's sorry a bit of sarcasm)... Of course my choice has nothing to do w/ anyone else's and I don't expect anyone else to really care what i choose or choose not to do.
My only point is that there is no need for me to 'dis his house' so to speak.
I've encouraged him years ago to pursue this line of reasoning. Of course he is always right so it fell on deaf ears (ok a little more sarcasm)...
Anyways choice is always good.....

Good for him.
This would probably be better in the "General Talk" section as it's not Pentax newsworthy.

Yahoo groups is just about the worst discussion platform I've ever come across. I am all too familiar with it.

In other news,

lol, RiceHigh has a forum.

idk if he'll read this, but invisionfree might be a better spot to start. Just sayin'.

If there are interesting discussions and reasonably behaved members, I'll probably join. If not, I won't join. RH as the administrator makes no difference to me.

:)

I think it was enough to have a good blog, then to have a blog and a discussion forum, although both lacking of attention..

I would suggest him simply install some add-on in his blog, disscussions, live feeds or something... administrating separate disscussions for one person is too much..

So, hire some IT specialist or do it your self, add on.. and focus all your attention in one place... make it more innovative.. but remain in one place.. that's my suggestion

of course if you read this..

I am a member of several Yahoo Groups and one advantage over forums is that the discussion never seems to turn toxic. I wonder why you have such a negative opinion of them?

I don't think he meant that the groups were necessarily bad. Note he said "Platform." It is about 2 steps above the old usenet systems.

Edit: This is funny:
Here is totally Free of Charge! Donation or any Dirty Money related things are NOT Welcomed!! :->

Sounds ok to me. Usenet works just fine with any decent reader.

OP, you and RH go way back by way of history but isn't this a case of letting sleeping dogs lie? C'mon let it go... why the need for further negativity?

I'm a member of a group that has been on there for 15 years and it can be difficult to search for a specific repair or model variation. However, people will usually remember they discussion and point it out. It is the most knowledgeable site for .027 Marx model trains on the net.
