Not really sure what the point of your post is, but obviously the price of gas depends on a multitude of variables, including local market conditions. That is to say, the price of gas depends in part on where you are located. You're (presumably) in California, I'm (definately) in West Virginia, so the price I pay is (or should be) completely irrelevant to you.
Here in Oil Rich Alberta it's a mere $0.95/ Litre for regular my Caddy takes premium so it only cost me about $90 to fill the tank the other day Thank gawd I don't drive much (and I'll bet a least a $0.05 increase July long weekend cause it what they do to Canadians not to worry though after the long weekend it will drop $0.03 dooooooooooooooh!)
I'm an excellent speller, a pretty decent typist, and not bad at all with grammar and punctuation.
But I sure screwed up that one, didn't I?
Didn't notice it when I typed it, then reading through the posts I saw it, thought to myself "That's not right, I better fix that." Now I guess there's no need to fix it--let it live in infamy, a testament to the imperfect nature of, well, me.

Oh, I wasn't meaning to pick on you, specifically. It's just one of those words that I commonly see, as you put it, excellent spellers frequently messing up on. I'd love to do (or at least read) a study as to why certain words get misspelled more than others.
