He might be another Wellstone in the Senate - I know Wellstone was despised for his liberal stance on every issue by the Conservatives, but he was possibly the most honest individual to ever take a seat in the Senate, and he came to be respected greatly for that.

I think Franken is cut from the same cloth.

I'm basing my comments in part on his rantings on "Air America" and he wasn't joking most of the time. Don't drag Wellstone into this for cover. Also don't pull the liberal/conservative card. I have had to deal with a lot of reps and senators over the years from 4 states.

You are the one coming on here acting like Franken won a land slide victory. He may very well have if a run of election was held like the did in Georgia to avoid a silly situation that will occur when the votes are within the statistical margin of error. If the margin of error is that close, a stack of ballots in the trunk of someone's car can change the out come and confidence.

Edit: BTW, you are one to talk about cheap shots only you don't level them at 2-bit politicians.

So does "Prairie Home Companion." That's why it is so windy in Kansas.

Yup, just like Florida in the 2000 election.

rofl! So at least you're finally agreeing that Fox news Sucks? We're making progress here! By 2014 you'll be up here working on Franken's re-election campaign!

Yeah, by Al Goring getting spanked in his home state, it came down to a situation where the votes were within the statistical margin of error. Had Gore not got spanked at home, Florida would not have mattered.

Edit: lets not leave out Oh in the 2004 election or ACORN in the past one.

I'm think they are the only news around except some of the local news programs. Some of the other channels are either to busy proclaiming someone as a God or getting tingly feelings or getting feeds from KTLA's helicopter over the hospital that has MJ's dead body in it and announcing that he is in a coma when in fact he had been dead for hours. To make matters worse, NBC is owned by Governent Electiric (GE).

I'm glad to see you guys take responsibility for Kansas being windy! It has been blamed on Ne sucking for years when in fact it has been PHC.

BTW, I'd be more than happy to work for Al Frankenstein's re-election campaign. The last one I worked on, my guy lost (Sasser to Frist). I think my F. Frist comments weren't working.

You guys think this is a good thing? Really?

No party should EVER have a super majority in both bodies of Congress and control of the White House simultaneously. That's a disaster waiting to happen.

The Democrats can now pass whatever they wish, whether it's good or bad for the country/we the people. And you think this is a good thing?

We'll see who's laughing in a few years, deadwolfbones...

Oh, and before you go slamming me for being a "republican"...I'm not. I'm a moderate who doesn't fit with either current mainstream party.

I sure hope the Supreme Court has the sense to block any bad stuff the Democrats try to pass.

Yeah, we proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that the Democrats on the east coast have too low of an IQ to punch a card.

I think it's a good thing that the guy who won the most votes is in office, that's all. I don't want the guy who got fewer votes in there just to avoid a supermajority. I would have been fine with a runoff, but that's not how Minnesota wanted to handle it.

More votes is debatable. Seems there were a lot of odd votes just "turning up" in trunks of peoples' cars, etc. But hey, sidelines, y'know...maybe you have a different perspective being a resident.

I'll go ahead and equate this with Bush 2000. Hopefully it doesn't lead to as great a disaster, there ain't much room left for error before it all turns into a hardcore clusterf**k.

Considering the Democrats couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery, I don't think you have to worry.

One reason it's a good thing is at least the people of Minnesota have representation in the Senate now.

Well, I am a Democrat and I think that this is not a good thing. I agree that neither party should ever have that much control. I didn't like it when the Republicans held The Presidency and both houses.

Democrats have long said, I among them, that dissent is a good thing. Having 60 seats in the senate quashes any dissent that might otherwise be heard.
