| Well, you can all argue political philosophy until your faces turn blue, but it won't change the fact that as you preoccupy yourselves with such theoretical "isms" you just generate more revenue for the big banks. Me too. And there's not much any of us can do about it short of reverting to stone-age existence on some corner of the globe where the big financial interests have no (interest in) exerting their influence.
What's the actual problem? The power structures are too big. Government needs to be distributed, local, and highly participatorial while containing minimal opportunity for profiteers in order to actually work well. Whether it's extreme right or extreme left or somewhere in the middle doesn't really matter. It just needs to be small and determined by its constitutents and it'll work out one way or another.
On the other end of things, the powers that (actually) be are pushing for globalism. I can't think of a dumber idea than bringing 7 billion people under one roof and expecting things to run effectively and honestly. Unless the idea is to tap those 7 billion as a massive profit-production mechanism who either mindlessly spend their lives plugged into mass media or arguing meaningless political philosophies? If it works out, well, bully for them. It's the rest of us I'm worried for. |
