Olympus Pen, XA, OM creator Yoshihisa Maitani dies at 76

Death of a visionary.

Truly, if you've ever held an XA, you'll know.

All three of those cameras were incredible creations:
  • The Pen was probably the best-designed half-frame 35mm ever
  • The XA broke ground for the host of ultra-compact cameras that followed
  • The OM shook SLR design to its roots

Truly a legacy of visionary design...

Must have meant a lot to him to see the Pen brought back in digital form.

Sad news.

There will never be another camera like the XA.

The greatest little camera ever made.
