Lest We Forget

Lest We Forget is said at military services in Australia, I am not sure if it is international or not. So please forgive my ignorance.

However, as September the Eleventh rapidly approaches I want to say those words in memory of those who died on that blackest of black days in recent history.

I do not want to, or intend to, enter into any debate about the the "before and after" of that horrific day, neither do I wish to judge or jurorise around the issues. And I ask you to all to refrain likewise. Simply remember. It is now a part of our sad history as human beings.

We should remember, never forget and take it upon ouselves to ensure that it never, ever happens again.

I am moved by the words of John Lennon.

I'm sure the phrase isn't universal, and I'm sure that the specific event to be remembered varies 'round the world, but it's a widespread phrase and a reminder to us all...
