SoccerJoe and our other Filipino friends
The flooding there looks bad, I hope everyone is getting along ok. Hang in there and let us know how you're doing.

Was sad to hear this in the world news last night.
Hope it all goes well for you there in Manila.

Oh, no! I hadn't heard about this, though I missed the top stories in the news tonight.
Somehow, though, I get this heartening image of Soccer Joe out there saving people....by windsurfing!
*seriously, lighting a candle.*
Strength to you, friends.

wow, sometimes I really feel like I'm living in a cave. Completely off my radar.
Most assuredly I hope the best for all ensnared by these events.

After typhoon Ondoy (Ketsana) and tropical storm Pepeng (Parma), now there's super typhoon Quedan (Melor).
I hope our friends (my kababayan also) and their loved ones are ok and out of harm's way.

Same here Ratmagiclady, I'm worried no news is not good news in this instance, but I still have hope.

Let's hope no news only means that they have lost internet.

Well, the 'no news' factor isn't too surprising, given the situation: there's likely still a lot of outages in the area, not to mention other things to worry about than checking in here.

I hope they are all well also. I'm not surprised however if they can't get online as power could be out and phone and internet service as well. We were down several days after last Decembers ice storm and some areas were out of power for over a week and this was just in a small area of a few counties. This was large, widespread damage and it is going to take some time to recover.
