Something I haven't done in ages! (no politics in here! :) )
This afternoon I loaded up my old Minolta X700 with Tr-X, slapped on a 50mm prime, headed out and snapped the roll.
A few minutes ago I loaded up the film in my developing tank and processed it and now it's hanging to dry! wooo! And the good news is that the roll appears to be well exposed and processed.
Would you believe I had not wet processed a film at home since 1993!
My next step is to get a slide/negative scanner. I am looking at the OpticFilm 7500i SE. I've heard a lot of good things about it, and for under $400 it's hard to go wrong with it.
Why a slide scanner you ask? Well, though I do have an enlarger and all I need to make wet prints, I'd rather wait a bit and just scan and photoshop my negatives until I get some photos really worth wet printing (enlarger, timer, trays are in storage and I don't have the space to set up my darkroom).
Actually I should have put it in the "Post Processing, Printing, Software, and Darkroom " forum, but since 99.99999% of posts in there are about computer processing and not wet processing it felt "off topic" to post it in there!
Actually this thread is more about the fun of doing something I hadn't done in ages and not really about the technical aspects of it.
Pat
ps: plus I thought this forum could use a pleasant "no politics" thread

Indeed I tired with some surpirse / twist plot thread that got several hits the first couple days and now is getting lost
Its rather odd that I don't have any Minolta gear. My grandfather got me into photography in the 6th grade and he was pretty much Minolta all the way when it came to 35mm. Given that I have a collection of various bodies and lenses, it is ironic that Minolta is missing. There are 3 lenses that I would get a body for in a second. That's their fast 35mm, 50mm, and 85mm.

Somehow the glass was never quite to my taste, at least compared to Canon. By the time I was contemplating switching systems, the X-700 was already looking as good as it was going to get, with the classics already out the window. No place to jump ship to, really.
I should start developing myself. About 25 rolls of Tri-X in my fridge that have been exposed already.
See, if you weren't all the way over there, I'd say I'd do your backlog for some D-76. I have a couple of odd-rolls out that I've mostly shot for that developer, but I want to be doing Diafine and Rodinal this winter...
