Steve
If I sold an M42 lens I'd be tempted to include a new adapter (and of course bump the price to match)
That way you'd at least hope they wouldn't have problems.

I'd have told the guy to suck an egg and then posted bad feedback for him and a feedback response if he left me bad feedback.
At some point, people have to take ownership of what they do. If the equipment arrived in the same condition as it was sent, then as a seller, you've done your part.
What you did was akin to Toyota offering a warranty repair after you crashed your truck into a tree.

I almost thought of starting this as a new thread....I still might. I gave this guy $18 as my hands are tied......eBay has thrown in new rules to prevent fraudulant sales practices but the problem is they have gone too far. Two new rules in the past year (at least for eBay Canada...presuming it's the same for the US and other sites)

1) buyers can leave negative feedback but sellers cannot. Buyers will always have 100% positive regardless of their actions. A seller can leave positive feedback only (or elect to leave no feedback). A seller can still comment on negative feedback left on them.

2) Starting this month, sellers are responsible for items during shipping (ebay is saying that this has always been the case and they are only clarifying the issue). This means that if the post office loses the item, you are responsible. It also means that a signature should really be used.....which might be fine for USPS, but not Canada Post as it does not always have this as an economical option. Who wants to pay $85 shipping on a $35 item? This means more negative feedback for sellers.

Yeah I read that and realized my larger volume Ebay selling days are done. Shipping will be far far too expensive and the only place I could possibly sell to is Canada and the USA. Even then, it's going to cost a bundle to ship with confirmations. USPS is a lot cheaper. In fact I have a friend in Boston that has bought things that were "USA only" sales and had him ship them to me. I've recieved the box at the Post Office and had then put it on the scale to give me a price to return it. Just for fun. Generally it's 30% more for a similar return service. With a signature, it will be far too much.

Yep They started that nonsense about a year and a half ago in the USA. Thats why I told you to check this guys feedback for warnings
hidden in the positive comments. Terms like thief , dirtbag and scam artist can be inserted in positve feedback comments for buyers , eventhough ebay frowns on it.

Ok I am to. I still think this was was crock of ^%#% and you should not have had to cough up $18 to get a positive feedback!
