Yeah, but now he's got 2 decades more crap to apologize for that what Reagan had.
You don't do that all at once.

He should have started by apologizing for spending more than all 43 previous presidents. COMBINED. He should be apologizing for getting the next 3 generations of Americans in debt. He should apologize that some Americans were stupid enough to elect him president.

I did not vote for the GOP nor the DNC candidate.

I probably should have said, the majority of voters voted for Obama. Could be that many people did not vote because they did not like the main choices.

Sometimes you just have to go out and pick the lesser of the two evils and vote for that person or party. I realize that this has nothing to do with American politics or religion, and as such is off topic, but Canada is faced with a similar leadership problem.
The present government is run by a group who don't really represent the core values of the country, and are in fact running as a minority government with something like 38% of the popular vote. OTOH, the other major party is run by a fellow who has spent most of his life living and working outside of the country and can only call himself a Canadian because by chance he was born in Toronto.
Do we keep the person who is trying to Americanize us or elect the person who is a Citizen of Convenience?

I know, but after doing that so often, I felt complicit with the current political system, which is my opinion is of questionable ethics and legality, and certainly not how American gov't was intended to be.

And as you point out in your remark about the current Canadian gov't, support by a plurality does not represent a country's "core values"... if there is a set of "core values" that a majority of Canadians agree upon?
