Perhaps it a) factors in things other than murders and b) puts heavier weight on murders per capita rather than plain ol' totals. But I should know better than to expect you to apply a little rational thought to things like this.
Conspiracy!!!!
The crime statistics of world's five most dangerous cities are disheartening and shocking. With such high rates of homicide, robberies and violence these cities deservedly bear the names of 'the places of chaos and death' or 'the murder capitals of the world'. Despite the scary data, some of them still remain wanted tourist destinations, though extreme caution is strongly advised when visiting.
Or disarm everybody (except law enforcement officer).
Gee, I'm I ever stupid. Your constitution gives you the right to own as many weapons as you want so you can actually kill each other. The American Dream at work. I'm I ever glad I'm living north of the 49th.

Nope. Constitution doesn't delineate the specific nature of the arms owned. There are restrictions.
If the American citizenry had never owned their own guns, you guys probably wouldn't even have your own country.

I am just curious, do you guys North of the 49th ever get your head out of the sand? Chicago is one of the biggest gun control cities in the country behind NYC and Wash. D.C. Furthermore, you are assuming police commit no crimes. Finally, you would be surprised at how many police officers actually support the 2nd amendment (which is one of 2 they are sworn to uphold).
At least I'm not too worried about getting jumped and someone taking my camera in Florida, Tennessee or Alabama. Montreal on the other hand . . .
I feel a lot safer in Montréal than anywhere in the U.S. One of my wife's cousins lives in New York State, and, while visiting him, he lent me his car and told me: from that place to that place, don't stop for any reason. Do you think some nice woman wanted to rape me? I don't think so.
And in the Miami Hilton, the clerk told me not to go out after nine o'clock. Wonder why.
Montréal's crime rate is amongst the lowest in industrialized cities in North America.

Like I said, pull your head out of the sand anytime you are ready. My professional society has met in Montreal and Ft. Lauderdale (next to Miami). At least in Miami I can legally take care of myself. We had graduates students hospitalized traveling from the Queen Elizabeth to the Convention Center in Montreal. None in the latter. However, all cities pose an element of danger. However, you guys need to forget the Hollywood stereo types. Gooshin has barely stepped foot south of the border. The only real motivation behind this thread was to stir up shit like a good old .
