last i checked it was the russians had their flag up in berlin...
you guys jumped in at like the last year, i mean, thanks for the supplies and all but we put way more people on the line than you did.
Only in part of it. The latter bespeaks of the Soviet inefficiency problems. We operated on the philosophy that it was better to make the other poor damn bastard die for his flag.

you forget that at the time russia was still going through its "revolution" while you guys were climbing for the stars.
all things considered i think we did pretty damn well.
Or disarm everybody (except law enforcement officer).
When the criminals all put their weapons down this may just work
In my personal opinion the only thing disarming the average working man would do is make it a little harder for criminals to steal weapons from them.
Considering how few murders here in Canada are done with weapons actually stolen in Canada I don't know if it's worth the effort.
Most of the guns I've seen found in raids were automatic weapons, smuggled in from other places.

It's not the weapons that are the problem, it's the socio-economic disparities.

That's why we won't be taking over command if the Dutch leave Oruzgan. And why we pulled out of Iraq. And Vietnam. War these days is like rooting without a franger. You've got to know when to pull out.

The Diggers'd chant in unison at the end of the spiel, "What about Joe?" Not for any affinity with Stalin, maybe a bit with socialism (a lot of the Diggers being ardent unionists,) but mostly to take the piss.
Later warnings were posted saying that if that phrase was asked at all, by anyone, newsreels would be canceled.
Of course, the standard response to the US doing so well in WWII is because they arrived about five years late.
