Britain got into the major fighting on May 1940 and officially in the War Sep 1939. The Fins had asked for help and it didn't come. Those guys put up a hell of a fight against uncle Joe.
We didn't officially get into the war until Dec 7, 1941. I see that not only your history is dodgy, do is your elementary math.

I was using the Marco Polo Bridge Incident, in 1937, when history was forever changed when a Japanese soldier left his unit to take a sly leak, then things went rapidly downhill from there. Roughly five years. To be fair, we didn't get in until two years later.
