SD Cards in Japan

Hi, I'm going to Tokyo for 5 days and will probably go over my 4GB sd card's capacity in a few hours.

Does anybody know if SD cards are cheaper in Japan than in North America?

Also, are they compatible with North American cameras, software, readers... etc? Just want to make sure if they're exactly the same so that I don't kick myself when I get back and can't do anything.

i don't know about the price, but i'd say its better to carry sd cards then to go hunt them in a foreign country.
about compatibility. it is compatible. any SD card should work with the camera.

Yeah you're probably right.

After all, I can't read katakana anyway. It's just a time crunch because I doubt I'll get one today in time.

You can buy SD cards in many places in Japan, camera stores of course but convenient stores have them too if you really need one in a hurry but they will be more expensive. You can get 4gb card for about ￥3000 i dare say, although I haven't bought one for a while.

If you watch the Future Shop, and Staples you'll probably find some at a nice sale price soon.
It seems that those 2 stores always have sales on memory.
