End of a Pentax Legend!

Loved him or hated him (as I did) well not hate so much as thought he was a sad nerd with a lot of money who had no idea what he was on about.

Ricehigh has finally found his ultimate camera - the canon 5d- and left Pentax.
Apparently he is into portraiture and sports photography - who would have known it! Came as a huge shock to me.

Just had to share my happy news.

I think I will miss RiceHigh's insightful and balanced comments - guess I will have to find someone else to take the p**s out of now...

The Canon forums have a surprise coming their way once Rice starts scanning the internet for problems with Canon DSLR's - here's one to get him started:

Canon EOS 5D exposure system It's titled "Serious defect in Canon 5D exposure system"

What goes around, comes around....

Where would we be without the odd pain-in-the-neck? Life would be too boring, and we'd have nothing to bitch about. Anyway, if I had my 'druthers I'd buy a Nikon before I'd invest in a Canon DSLR regardless of the ridiculous price.

Did I, Pentax and this forum get early Christmas presents? Pentax isn't perfect (FA 28-80 need I say more) I've no issue with critiques of Pentax or any other product but please.... Good critiques actually help a brand as long as there is some objectivity. The fact that DPReview (Canon, Nikon promo site) banned him has gotta say something.
His reviews come off as "expert" and to the unsuspecting buyer looking at Pentax for the first time would never buy this brand after reading his ramblings.

Canon and related Canon forums are in for a "fun" ride.

I've read many of the post of RiceHigh

What a sad situation he must be in.

To spend his time and effort in a quest to "find out what's wrong with it" instead of putting all of that time an effort into actually using the equipment to "find out what's right with it."

I found that his approach and conclusions were much like looking for a Black Cat in a dark room where no cat exists but finding one anyway.

I'll be surprised if he actually completely leaves here for a while.

And he might even get worst and start saying why Canon is so much better at everything

I hope that I'm wrong.

Its sad that some people are never happy. They always seem to look for the negative in everything. I didnt know Ricehigh but by the sounds of your comments, I dont think I'm going to miss him.

Ohhhh... rest assured he will continue to knock Pentax till the day he dies. I have always suspected he was a Canon plant anyway (call me paranoid)... Now he's just come out from under his rock.

This guy has some serious issues that are way beyond the result of bad potty training. Hopefully he'll start working out his angst on the more expensive Canons so that the guys that have them can rise to the bait. Hope he stays there or works his way through the rest of the photographic universe, rather than coming back to Pentax equipment.

I wonder how long it will take uncle Phil to realize that RH is back on DPR. The guy is so smart that all he did to his handle is add a space and a C. I would imagine that once "RH C" gets going on the C*non line of cameras, the C*non guys are going to eat his lunch. They seem to be pretty protective over there.

I just do not think that Uncle Phil will be really happy to have a "banned" person get back into the "fold" by just adding two characters to his handle. Does not appear to be a very bright move.

Just started a post..Sorry. Didn't know this one existed. Seems he announced to the Pentax crowd that he has switched. Did so on Canon as well...That is exactly what I did and got banned for it. He will be hailed a "Messiah"

I just read the photozone.de with his latest criticism of canon 5D's pathetic auto ISO in green mode etc. That is really something amazing to read - to kill time I guess.

He is giving a a lot of credit to pentax lenses and cameras during his crusade of 5D criticism.
