Thanks for the comments!

Yes, an Indian motorcycle front fender is exactly what it is. Taken with my Tamron 70-300mm LD Di.

Actually, I have developed a very nasty habit of acquiring just such gear.....And I love it.

I'd have 18,000+ visitors to my web site if I kept on pasting links all over every forum saying Look Here as well
That's the easiest way to generate traffic that I know of.

Since people enjoy this topic so much. I'll add a post..
What I can say is that:

If one throws a rock into the pond and it doesn't create any ripples, he will tend to stop throwing the rock after awhile..

Is this enough fuel

Actually, if I threw a rock into a pond and it didn't create the ripples it should, I'd certainly be throwing even more rocks just to find out why.

I'm sure that no matter if there are ripples or not. Just that I walk near to the pond, many people will throw rocks to me or to the pond! ;->

Hmmm... I wonder how many comparisons we are going to see now of the k100d and the 5d

That extra 2.8MP really worth the additional two grand?
Like I have told people before and like i told Will before he bought his canon stuff. Its not just the body that you are paying for, you are buying into a lens system. To some people, the canon lineup is worth paying that little bit extra to have access too.

When it came time to choose between a k10d and a 20D a month ago for me, the canon lens lineup suited my needs better than the pentax one did. That being said, if i could afford it i would still buy a k10d as well.

It depends on whether the people with rocks are Pentax users or not. The Pentax users would definately be throwing the rocks at you and not the pond. And, based on some of the things you've written over the last few months, I'd say you deserve it.

Lens(es) is not a big issue to me. The 24-105L F4 covers most of my *daily* need. At low light, I can always mount a cheapo 50/1.8.

Unless I completely switch, I can always use my Pentaxes for other special applications like super tele (for birds and concerts etc.) and for macros or for hiking when I need a lightweight DSLR and lens. Actually, the standard range of 24-105 is much useful than any of my standard zooms, namely: 16-45 (=24-70), 18-55 (=28-85), 24-90 (=37-137) and 18-35 (=28-56).

Actually, no APS-C system has a quality zoom in that range, this holds true for the Nikon (they have only 17-55/2.8 and the 18-70 is just a consumer kit lens afterall).

The Canon EF-s 17-55mm f2.8 IS is a damn fine lens that fits the 24-70(ish) range quite well.
