If you want/need SDM then yes. Thats the only reason to do so though. And SDM should be good for fast tracking and sports etc, and IMO if you want to do that, then k10d should be better with better AF system and more fps and bigger buffer. Or if the SDM actually greatly improved the AF on the k100d then.... Question is can u afford that expensive glass
Now, if they would add the weather sealing, THAT would be a worthy upgrade and make it a real SUPER camera.

For me I did - I sold my K100D and picked up a K10D - I got a good price on a used K10D from a member here was the biggest factor. I sold my K100D for a slight loss. The extra Burst Mode , weather sealing, extra mp for cropping, battery grip and the upcomming SDM glass were my reasons. It all boils down to personal choice , wants , needs and dollars of course

I was all excited... I thought this was a WTB thread... - j/k
The only reason I didn't get the K10D was because of the additional noise associated with the 10mp sensor. The only reasons I wish I had gotten the K10 is the SDM and weather-sealing. Neither one is compelling enough to overcome the low-light noise, nevermind the money.
Every camera is a compromise, and the compromises everyone wants to make are different.
I would definately sell my K100D for a K100D with SDM, and weather-sealing, but not a K100 with SDM and Dust removal. I've already got equipment to remove dust. It wouldn't be worth it to me to lose my shutter counter for a single feature. Especially when the features, aside from optics, of the new DA* lenses are 2-fold -- weather-sealing and SDM. This only allows K100D-Super users to take advantage of one of them. Why would I buy a 1000 dollar lens when I could only take advantage of 1/2 the features?
I'd still rather have the better low light performance of the 6mp sensor.
you forget there is another advantage of the new lenses (if they ever come out). All are supposed to have much larger max apertures...
