One thing I discovered today is that the type of batteries used can have significant performance implications for the K100. I'd previously been using 1.2v NiMH rechargables - today I tried 1.5v Li-Ion AAs for the first time. I was blown away by how much the autofocus improved. I'm not sure if I'll use them all the time (they were originally intended to be backups), but it's certainly worth trying

Hi Dave, I don't have high hopes for a firmware udpate for the super. As far as Pentax is concerned there is nothing wrong with the camera and if you want something else, they probably want you to buy another camera. It'll be great to have the weird Auto-ISO-off-during-exposure-compensation "feature" corrected, but I don't see that coming.

    Hello everyone,
Do you think that we will ever see a firmware update for the super?

Hello everyone. I just started DSLR photography and am over the moon with my K100D. I've got it with the Tamron 18-250mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II Macro instead of the kit lens and find the Tamron very versatile. I'm tempted to get another lens and am mainly thinking about a fast (probably 30 up to 50mm) prime, but am not sure yet what my next lens should be.

Hello to the group. I'm working with a K100D, 50 f/1.4 and a new 28-105 f/3.2-4.5 that I like quite a bit for general walk around. As some of you may know, I'm much interested in black&white and find the K100 ideal for pulling the kind of microdetail I'm looking for...but since I'm still a novice, I have a lot to learn and hopefully this group will be part of that process,
