I see this group as a few things. First, simply a place to share images and events of St. Louis and to meet others in the area who share a common interest. Perhaps it is also a means by which we can get together for a walkabout sometime. We can also use it for professional networking (ala linkedin.com). St. Louis already has a camera club, so I don't see it being as formal as that but I would not be opposed to it either.

I kinda think none of us really knows what to do with this Forum feature.

Maybe we can all do silly things like compare photos taken of the 4th of July Parade (lots of candid grabs, if you're into that kind of thing - find me on a float!!).

Maybe this will become an honest-to-goodness photo club - or maybe just a chimera.

I do know there are 140 members in Missouri - They'll all hear from one of us eventually <|.>)

A St. Louis group is a great idea.

I am a hobby photographer at best. I enjoy taking pictures of about anything, including outside sports, inside sports (lots of challenges there), landscapes, etc, and of my 4 kids (22,19, 17, & 14 - who think I am torturing them).

I do a bit of travel (going to France next week, and Guatemala in a couple of weeks), and enjoy bringing the camera with me!

Same here. I was taking the trash out and thought that I need to take my camera out with me while I run errands. I went inside and grabbed my keys, refilled my biz cards and had work on my mind....no camera. 8(

Funny you should remark about the clouds. I started to grab my camera when a work email came in which distracted me. Please share if anyone captured an image, it was quite interesting.

Greetings to all. I am an IT Program Mgr by day and learning the Photog deal in the spare time. I primarily shoot the kids (7yo and 2yo) and try to shoot a car race or two when I have time (SCCA and Rally). I have been able to sell a few of the race photos, but I hope to do more in the future. I also enjoy wrenching on a project car and mountain biking.

Great to meet each of you!

MJB: I'm shooting for hobby and pleasure only. Using KX and k-series manual primes with Tri-X mostly, but I may shoot slides once in a while if I can still find a good processor. Learning the K10D w/ FA50/1.4 and FA35/2 and my manual lenses. Spent the day shooting azalea arrangements indoors, except for the brief burst of sunlight we had late this afternoon - then I got out and shot bug macros. Those darned ground squirrels are always around except when I have my camera handy.
