PentaxForums.com Marketplace: Item Listing Form Launched!

Today, I'm happy to announce that the new Marketplace Item Listing form, which has been in testing for over a week, is now officially launched in our Marketplace section. Using this form, site members can easily list their Pentax equipment for sale. The form is designed to include all important item information, including price, shipping services, shipping cost, and condition. It also allows users to upload attachments and link to off-site item photos, and it has a field where users can enter custom information about their item, just like the old editor allowed.



Please note that this form is only intended to be used when listing individual items. If you plan on selling multiple items in a single thread, use the traditional editor instead. Two new buttons have therefore replaced the single "New Thread" button at the top of the marketplace index, allowing you to choose whether or not to use the form.



The form also comes with a condition key, which allows to specify the condition of your item through the following categories:

Mint: Item has no marks, scratches, or signs of use whatsoever. Packaged in original box with all manuals and accessories. 99.99% of original condition.

Like New: Item is lightly used, but shows no marks or scratches. Extremely minimal signs of use may be visible. Packaged in original box with all manuals and accessories. 98% of original condition.

Excellent: Item is moderately used, but shows no scratches or dents. Small marks and minimal signs of use may be visible. Collectors would accept items in this condition. 95% of original condition.

Good: Item has seen substantial use, but shows no significant scratches or dents. Marks and signs of use may be visible as a result from wear-and-tear. 90% of original condition.

Fair: Item has seen substantial use and may have some scratches, but no significant dents. Marks and signs of use will be more abundant than typically. 80% of original condition.

Poor: Item has seen great use and may have scratches, dents, and signs of use that are clearly visible. 70% of original condition.

Damaged: Item has seen extreme use, or has been handled poorly. Significant scratches, dents, dings, and signs of use are clearly visible OR the item is NOT in full working condition. 60% or less of original condition. Bargain price. Any lens with scratches on its front element, fungus, or fog will automatically fall in this category.

All conditions, save "Damaged," are assumed to retain the item's full working condition. If a lens is being sold, its glass is assumed to be in mint condition unless it is described as "Poor" or "Damaged".

If you would not like to use the form for any particular item, you are free to list items using the traditional editor. Therefore, we ask that if you do use the form, please do not modify the output of any of the fields it generates, and always use the item condition key to classify your items.

As always, before submitting a Marketplace thread, check to see the item you are trying to sell is not already being sought for in the Wanted Items section. Also make sure you are familiar with the Marketplace Regulations before posting a thread.

In the future, I plan on creating separate forms for lenses, cameras, and accessories, so that the fields are even more relevant to the item being sold.
