The term "macro" is not precisely defined. When I first learned about photography 30 years ago, it meant a lens that would yield 1-to-1 pictures: the image on the film would be as large as the subject. Later, the name was applied to any lens with close focus capabilities. My workhorse MF lens is a Tokina 80-200 "macro zoom" and it focuses to about 40 inches. This is about the same as the 50-200 zoom that I'm offering but Pentax never labeled it as a "macro."
