    Hi David,

Frank here. Thanks for your msg. I'm sorry that my friend has run out of filters himself. Because of the coming Beijing Olympic Game, no electronic stuff including cameras and lenses can be sent by airmail from or within China. Which means my friend can't sell any IR converted
cameras. That's why he didn't order more filters or cameras to do the conversion. But he does have four already converted IR K100D cameras, and two of them are with me right nwo here in Singapore. I've been helping him selling this camera for a while. He only asks for $550USD including EMS shipping for a converted IR K100D. I think it's a good deal considering some companies charge several hundred dollars for the conversion alone.

I'm really sorry that I can't be any help w/ this. But I do know the filter size. It's 28x22mm. If you can manage to cut the filter to this size, it'll work.

Please let me know if you think I can be any help.

    Best Regards,

    Frank

    Hello Frank,

I came across the conversation on IR cams here when looking for details on IR conversions.
My daughter Josie is a very keen photographer and is very interested in IR.
She recently bought a second K100D, especially to mod for IR.

Since we did not have any luck finding a local servicer willing to do a Pentax conversion, Josie has started dismantling the camera, with the intention of removing the IR blocking filter herself.

At the moment, she is thinking of asking a glass-cutter to cut a Hoya R72 filter down to size, to use for the internal IR replacement...

But I thought I would first check whether your friend happens to sell custom (720nm) filters suitable for this type of camera? And if he does, about what price might he ask for them?

    Thanks,
    David C.
