Dear Frank, sorry for the late reply. Only today I got the mail from the Forum people.
Hence this reply. Perhaps it was good, because this morning I visited the Wolfe Camera store in San Mateo California (walking distance from my house). THEY ARE HAVING A CLOSING DOWN SALE. I found the original Pentax battery D-LI50 for US $ 21 and a 1800 mAh non-genuine for $ 13. Biggest surprise, the Pentax Remote F for all Pentax cameras was $7.20.

I came across the conversation on IR cams here when looking for details on IR conversions.
My daughter Josie is a very keen photographer and is very interested in IR.
She recently bought a second K100D, especially to mod for IR.

Since we did not have any luck finding a local servicer willing to do a Pentax conversion, Josie has started dismantling the camera, with the intention of removing the IR blocking filter herself.

At the moment, she is thinking of asking a glass-cutter to cut a Hoya R72 filter down to size, to use for the internal IR replacement...

But I thought I would first check whether your friend happens to sell custom (720nm) filters suitable for this type of camera? And if he does, about what price might he ask for them?

I was looking through the marketplace board and noticed that you had a FA*24mm for sale a while back. I have one I'm considering selling, am wondering what price you got for it if you don't mind me asking. I believe KEH has sold them for almost $500. But would prefer to go direct to a forum member if poss, so just trying to figure out what a reasonable price would be.

I was told that you know Yun Lei, in China, who converts Pentax cameras for infrared only use. I was also told that you are very helpful at establishing communication with him. I was giveh his email address, but can you tell me if he speaks english? Do you know which Pentax cameras he converts? Does he do the K10D or K20D? Any information will be helpful and appreciated.
