Harvey Lembeck was a comic actor and appeared in Stalag 17, the Phil Silvers Show, and the Beach Party movies as Eric von Zipper.


Mitzi Green played Becky Thatcher in Tom Sawyer and in Huckleberry Finn in the early 30s. She was the first child actor to be signed to a multi-movie deal with Paramount. Her adult roles fizzled and she retired early.

Joe Besser was a later member of the Three Stooges. He was also in some Abbott and Costello movies and played Stinky on their show, and was in 88 episodes of the Joey Bishop Show.


Ernst Lubitsch started acting in silent movies, then began writing and directing. His movies include Ninotchka, To Be Or Not To Be, and Heaven Can Wait.

Tom Bosley played mayor Fiorello La Guardia, a sheriff on 'Murder, She Wrote', 'Father Dowling', and Howard Cunningham (Mr C) on 'Happy Days'.


Actress Ann Harding started in movies in 1929, co-starring with Fredric March in 'Paris Bound'. She worked on and off over the years, working again with Fredric March in 'The Man In the Gray Flannel Suit' in 1956.


Charles Locher, known as actor Jon Hall, found success in the 1937 movie 'The Hurricane'. After suffering with cancer, he shot himself.

Actor Gene Barry was the doctor in the original War of the Worlds, and was in Our Miss Brooks, Bat Masterson and Burke's Law. I wonder why it is taking so long for the name plaque...


Looks like he finally got it, as of Jan 2012...


Allan Sherman was a comedy writer and TV producer who became famous as a song parodist with "Hello Muddah, Hello Faddah".


Actor Sheldon Allman appeared in many TV shows, was the singing voice of Mister Ed, and composer of the Super Chicken, George of the Jungle, and Tom Slick theme songs.

Murray Janofsky, known as comedian Jan Murray, started in vaudeville, worked Las Vegas, and was the host of several game-shows in the 50s and 60's.


Isadore Freleng was an oscar-winning animator and producer of the Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies cartoons with characters such as Bugs Bunny, Porky Pig and Yosemite Sam. His nickname was derived from his frizzy hair.


Larry Gelbart was a composer, writer and director most famous for working on the TV show M*A*S*H.

TV producer Aaron Spelling is famous for shows such as The Smothers Brothers, The Mod Squad, Starsky and Hutch, Beverly Hills 90210, Charlie's Angels, and Charmed. He had the biggest mansion in Hollywood.


Nominated 17 times and winning one oscar, Jerry Goldsmith composed music for TV and movies such as Patton, Planet of the Apes, Chinatown, and The Boys From Brazil.


Sherman Block joined as a deputy in the Los Angeles sheriff dept in 1956, and was the first to work his way up to being the Sheriff of Los Angeles County, from 1982 until his death in the middle of his re-election campaign.

Lee De Forest invented the Audion vacuum tube, which was a key component of all major communication devices (radio, telephone, radar, television) prior to the invention of the transistor.


Edward Arnold starred in Diamond Jim, and appeared in Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, The Devil and Daniel Webster, and Annie Get Your Gun. He was the SAG president shortly before his death.


Actor Richard Loo was mostly stereotyped in Asian roles, and is probably best remembered as Hai Fat in the James Bond movie Man with the Golden Gun.

Actor Dan Seymour started out hosting in nightclubs, then played many 'fatman' and villainous parts in TV and movies due to his size.


Selma Diamond started out selling cartoons and stories to magazines, then wrote for TV shows, and is most famous as the baliff on TV's Night Court.

Band-leader and composer Percy Faith is credited with developing orchestral 'easy listening' music, and is probably most famous for 'Theme From a Summer Place'.


Sid Gillman played and coached college and professional football, leading the San Diego Chargers to the AFL champinship in 1963. He is credited with creating an early version of the 'West Coast offense'.

Director George Pal produced the sci-fi movie War of the Worlds, and directed The Time Machine.


Actor Hayden Rorke was in An American in Paris, Pillow Talk, and When Worlds Collide, but is best known as Dr. Bellows on the TV show I Dream of Jeannie.

Jerry Rubin was a social activist during the 1960s and 1970s, and with Abbie Hoffman, was a founding member of the Youth International Party, known as Yippies. He was one of the 'Chicago Seven'.

Jim Jacobs played football and ran a 9.8 sec 100-yd dash in high school, and was asked to try out for the Olympic basketball team. He opted to concentrate on handball, where he won 6 National Singles, 6 National Doubles, and a World Championship.

Corey Allen went over the cliff in Rebel Without a Cause, and moved into directing, including Hill Street Blues, for which he earned an Emmy. You'd think he could have sprung for a better marker.


William Goetz rose up through the studio ranks and eventually headed his own studio. He was involved with Guadalcanal Diary, Lifeboat, Jane Eyre, and Sayonara.


Gangster/mafia leader Mickey Cohen started out selling newspapers at age 6, and alcohol at age 9. He survived it all and died in his sleep.
