Weekly Challenge #49 - Tranquility - Winners

First of all let me say that I find it much easier to enter the weekly challenge than to judge it!
I have never 'judged' photos before and it's a lot tougher than I expected, there are so many great shots this week - I really had a tough job! There really could be several firsts, and many honouble mentions - but a 'judge' has to make decisions!

The honourable mentions (in no particular order)

alohadave - love the setting glow amongst the trees
djm - wonderful colors
jshurak - great shot of 'calmness' in the city
Peter Zack - a lovely serene shot
NaClH2O - love the fish
rparmar - interesting interpretation of tranquility
Arjay Bee - a very 'calming' photo
daacon - a great quiet moment amongst the ruins

Runners Up

roentarre - love the bright strong colours against the waterfall

chaneler - great shot - the partly sunken boat is a nice touch

dave_kitson - a beautiful shot - terrific colours and composition

F-Stop - a terrific shot - love the lighting, colour, reflection

GWP - this is a real tossup with the winner! - a lovely capture of a 'tranquil' moment!

And the Winner is....

bbpa103

I just love this shot - very simple on one level but great composition, and 'atmosphere' - the fog, reflection and ripples are perfect - a beautiful tranquil moment!

Congrats to all the participants this week - there were many great photos submitted! You made my first 'judging' very challenging, but I do appreciate the honour of being this week's 'judge'

bbpa103 - I look forward to the #50 challenge theme...

That was a tough one Mike thanks for the HM. There were all reallyexcellent shots and as I think Peter mentioned a while ago, the shots are getting better and better in these challenges a testament to the members.

Thank you for the HM. Lots of good shots and alternate interpretations of tranquil and as usual with emotional responses what one person sees as tranquil is different to what other sees. It is interesting to see this difference in perception through other people's camera lenses.

I look forward to the next topic.

Thanks for the Honorable Mention. That was one of the first shots I took when I got the camera. It was truly a lucky shot of a serene afternoon.

Those are some really beautiful shots. As fate would have it, I'll be without internet access for the next couple of weeks. Schmikey separate email sent. Request an alternate be selected to host the next one. Many thanks, Ken.

Great shots one and all. Picked the winner when it first appeared myself. A top shot!
Shame you cant follow up on it with next comp Ken, I imagine it should go to GWP as the runner up in a sense, but then, is it up to me?

Congratulations Ken and thanks for all the hard work Mike. Not an easy task. There were lots of beautiful shots and, as others have said, it was interesting to see people's different interpretations of the theme.

Ken - too bad you can not lead the next challenge - I will contact GWP as the runner up to take your place.

Thanks
Mike
