Zav, I had a look at the shot in Lightroom and it's easy to adjust for straightness there. Here's a straightened version. The shot was off 0.25 degrees. So that's nothing and you can see the difference from the frame edge here.
Who knows why it was rejected. Great looking shot in my opinion.
My latest rejects met me on Monday morning - nice way to start the week; not going to post 'em here, but will keep trying to get one through the proverbial PPG Pearly Gate. It's so hard to know what'll pass muster and what'll end up in the PPG crapper. I've had several photos "Explored" on Flickr and one I submitted to PPG thinking it stood a very good chance; it came back in a body bag. Next...!
I think your hockey shots are great! I have been working hard with the hockey rink myself and I find it very frustrating. That is some nice action shots you have.

I don't think you can go any closer. You would loose all the action that is happening. Cutting off skates sticks and nets just seems to ruin the photo. I love them just the way they are.
Wellcome to my photo albums at Flickr Flickr: dsportgino's Photostream
These photos were all rejected by PPG.
(Except four I did not submit as taken by Nikon)
