The traveling nifty 50mm

After some interesting discussion here...

wanna give away a lens, any takers

and generosity by Aamir, this little thread has come about.

This Pentax SMC A50mm f1.7 is about to go on a round the world vacation showing what it can do

[IMG][/IMG]

Each person that receives it, will take some interesting shot's post a few here, then post it on by registered mail to the next deserved recipient...

I'd like the lens back by Dec 25th 2009, and am willing to bet it will make it back to me

Heres a couple more quick shot's I ran out and took with it earlier before posting to Aamir

Hopefully others can do better than these

Oh as Aamir was the generous one, he's now got the lens in the mail heading to him first...

.

What a great idea!

Can I be next in line?

EDIT: looking at that other thread, looks like figmental and leadbelly are in line before me, but
I'd like to get in line at some point, love the idea!

I think X-Man (mike), Jsherman and myself can be the next few in line.

What a great & fun idea. Is Australia too far to ship the lens? If not, put my name down.
lbam...some nice images to start this thread with.

Cool.... I'm in

What a brilliant Idea... I hope will someone document all of the travel and Photos.... it would be a fun book.

Now will someone just donate their 31ltd for a round the world trip... I am first in line to receive that one.

For those interested, we should set up a Flickr group/account that you can post photos taken by the lens (thus they will appear in chronological order).

Send the future recipient the details to the Flickr account, have them post their photos, then send it forward.

Would it make sense to create an organized list so that the lens can be sent around in a quasi-orderly fashion that would allow for as many people to participate before the deadline?

Count me in!

Update: just set up a new Flickr account (travelingnifty50mm) and have sent the details to lbam to start the ball rolling.

I like the idea of the Flickr page, but an not so sure about the list as one person has to create the list which might be a little unfair.. hence I personally feel it's best left to the receiver to decide where to send to...

Feel free to disagree

Once Aamir finds this thread he'll let us know who he's going to send to, then that person will do the same and onwards etc.. how's that?

Anyone who has already posted on this thread will be high on the pecking order I'd say..

adding my name to the list seems like a good way to have a lens travel
