Potw #38 23/11/08 - 07/12/08

Potw #38 23/11/08 - 07/12/08
Welcome to POTW # 38

This week's photos will cover these dates: Sunday November 23rd till Sunday December 7th.

Let's keep up the high standard of shots we have seen over the past weeks.

Rules as before:

1) No theme just your favorite stuff.
2) Let's keep it to about 4-6 images per post just so the thread doesn't get too big each week .
3) Any Pentax camera is fine, film, P&S, DSLR (or Samsung DSLR)
4) Runs for 14 days. Sunday November 23rd to Sunday December 7th.
5) Enter anything you shot last week or this current week until the thread closes.

Thanks for hosting last week, Tom

We seemed to miss a week before, and since this is rapidly becoming one of my favorite threads, I took the liberty of starting his week.

Weather at the Nature Reserve was fog till after noon this Sunday, so few bird shots till it cleared. Instead, a few to pass the time and get us started:

Here are a couple of low light shots taken at a Christmas display of Dickens' 'A Christmas Carol'. Didn't do any shopping, but I like the Christmas displays.

And one of the light show.....

Nice pictures so far, all:

smf - the soft colors and textures of those orchids are beautiful.

Dave - nice veggies! That snow looks as if it is not so cold this week there.

oldschool - I really love that last picture - is that hanging display as large as I think?

borno - those herons must be getting so used to cameras that they don't notice you now.

It was so foggy here Sunday morning that even the birds were damp and cold

but this is from the same day about 4-5 hours later after it burned off.

Here's my third-oldest, a field naturalist in the making (sorry about the camera, an old P&S of mine that she uses).

Kevin, nice captures of dewdrops. The two shots of the hawk (?) in different conditions are really interesting.

smf wonderful color

Dave, you're right, they are random! I like #2 best

oldschool, I like the shot of the light show

Tom, nice images of the bird and the beach, well done as always!

And here's the newest member of the family, Spencer the dog, who made the trip home with us. (Kind of a snapshot but indulge me )

Just last night, I got a new-to-me Pentax-F 50mm f/1.7. Here are some shots from the lens taken in my backyard this morning before I left for work. I have to say, I like this lens.

It WAS cold! and I hadn't brought my cold-weather-photography gloves (no tips on the fingers)
