First of all I'd like to thank all the participants. There were many, many, many excellent photos submitted. I made my job pretty difficult. So thanks for stretching me a bit...I think.
A few Honorable mentions: These photos almost made it to the final 3, in fact I went back and forth for a while making my decision.
Leaf Fan

like the golden color of the light and the "sunstar". Also like how the vertical tree lines interact with the diagonal shadow lines.
Rense

Rense's ability to produce extraordinary macros always astounds me. I love the highlights on the spider web and how you caught the translucent nature of the legs.
Photolady

There were a lot of back lit flora. All of them good. I liked this one in particular for its elegant simplicity. The nice symmetry of the opposite branching maple leaves, the dew drops and the shading from green to red all made this a special photo.

Another floral. Great colors, excellent and interesting bokeh, perfect exposure and focus, and a very pleasing framing. What's not to like about this shot?
Second place

I love alan's creative use of flare, not an easy thing to do because the flare isn't readily visible in the viewfinder. I think one of the things I really like about this photo is the way the lines of the railing and benches leads off into the distance, symbolizing the long (hopefully) future the couple has.

Love this shot, the golden color to the light, the highlights in the trees, the railing climbing the hill, all of it. All your work and planning worked out Peter, great shot!
Thanks again to everyone who participated, it was fun!
