Weekly Challenge #108: Parent/Child Candids

Weekly Challenge #108: Parent/Child Candids

Subjects can be any age. Clarification: Photos should include at least one parent and one child.

The challenge will close on September 3 and winners will be posted the following day. I'm a little anxious about the judging part but looking forward to seeing the submissions.

The fine print....

1. Post ONE photo (max 1000x1000).
2. The photo must portray an interpretation of the theme.
3. Post your single picture in this thread, and explain what motivated you to take the picture and/or how you feel it represents the weekly theme
4. The challenge is interactive. Any response is welcome.
5. The judge will pick the WINNERS and chose 1 of them to be the judge for the next week.
6. This challenge runs for 7 days plus a day for the judge to choose the winners.
7. Any Pentax camera will do or a Samsung DSLR.
8. Pictures can be from any time frame, not just within the week of the current theme.

Oops! I wasn't clear enough--I meant photos with at least one parent & one child. That'll teach me to post before my third cup of coffee. I've edited the challenge post to reflect that. I hope you won't too put out by this clarification. Very nice shots, btw.

OK, no problem. I'll just have to search for a photo including one of us. I'll leave the original submission, acknowledging that it's not in the challenge.

My daughter at around 6 months old with my wife in the background. This was in a B&B in Fitzgerald, GA with windowlight making the room glow.

EDIT: This is not the one I had intended to post; however, the other one, the mother was just a bit out of focus. But it was a better shot otherwise.

This dad with his youngsters at the market seemed perfect for the theme. Parents with their children were everywhere so I settle with this one.

This is a picture of my darling wife Jess and my adorable daughter Serafin Nancy.
This was Serafin's first experience in the hot tub. I think this picture perfectly portrays the love of a mother to her child and the trust of the child to her mother. She is completely unphased by the experience as long as she is in her mothers arms.
I chose B&W because it conveys emotion much better than colour.

Grandad and Grandson

This isa photo of myself and my grandson.

Taken off a tripod, remote activated by my wife, so if that disqualifies me, I understand.;
