Winners: Weekly Challenge #108: Parent/Child Candids

First of all, I want to thank Leaf Fan and daacon for their graciousness in response to my (characteristic) clumsiness in the kick-off.

The judging part is even harder because there have been such great submissions and because judging really isn't my strong suit. All I can do, I guess is bite the bullet and make my picks. Here goes:

I'll start with the disqualification of the submissions by Bramela and Ash as very effective photos but not really candids.

I also want to record Honorable Mentions for Leaf Fan, Mechan1k, K McCall, legacyb4, song_hm, mingdie. Nice work!

Third Place

I'm going to take the liberty of announcing a tie for third place--between the father & child on bike photo by tpeace which I found irresistible and the contemporary family by Rense because candid moments aren't always sweet.

I should say, btw, that I went 'round and 'round about 1st and 2nd place because Free Soul's shot so exemplifies the spirit of the candid genre.

Congrats to CWyatt, tpeace and Rence! Wonderful shots!
The Firts place shot is a really very impressive, so touching!

Congrats to all participants, the challenge was great! All entries showed sweet and/or strong moments of parents-child relationship.

Thank you for comments about my shot.

Thanks very much for the comments on Of Life or Death It's been a good day for that photo, it also came second in a competition here in NZ.

I'm really impressed by the other photographs in this thread. They would go very well in the M.I.L.K. series that came out a few years ago. ( http://www.freshmilkphotos.com/ )
