Picture Of The Week #81 - 9/20/09 - 10/04/09

Picture Of the Week #81 - 9/20/09 - 10/04/09

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A warm welcome to all members to Picture of the Week #81. The last POTW, hosted by Borno, has been a brilliant success, with many top shots posted.

To all members out there : Dont be shy, put up one or more of your photos. It is not a competition, and there certainly wont be any criticism. Just interest in what you have been clicking. So lets see some new Pentaxians getting involved as well.
If you haven't posted photos before and aren't too sure how, just give as a query and you will find plenty of help from some very friendly people.

Once again same rules and really other than time frames there are no rules

1) No theme just your favorite stuff.
2) Let's keep it to about 4-6 images per post just so the thread doesn't get too big each week.
3) Any Pentax camera is fine, film, P&S, DSLR (or Samsung DSLR)
4) Date : Sunday 09/13/2009 to Sunday - Sunday 09/27/2009. Enter anything you shot last week or during this current week until the thread closes.

Previous hosts: (each one is a hotlink to that POTW thread to look past at the previous weeks Thanks to Peter who started the links it was a lot of editing )

Looks like we got some nice photos to start this week.

Jeff, love the flower

Andras, I love the second one. Is that light source the sun or a light?

Scott, like these also but like the second best, but then I'm a sucker for lighthouses and sailboats in the same scene.

Andras, that's some powerful beer. Most beer sold here is only 6% but then again in a few states it can be only 3%.

I have a few I just got developed yesterday evening and sized for posting here. Some of these are Macro shots using my 70-300mm and the DCR-150.

Here is the whole subject of the second photo:
This is a dead Spider Crab:

A pink Zinnia ( not as in focus as I hoped):

This another Zinnia, and there is line in there I can't figure out where it came from.

@planedriver Really like #3 with the composition
@scott Great harbor shot in #1; wish I lived closer to the ocean where we had those scenes
@photolady Nice shots; you shooting on film and getting those scanned from negatives?

One more to keep the ball rolling; my "money shot" for the soccer weekend (our team is in blue but that's not my son scoring the goal). The expression on the goalie's face is priceless!

Yes, Jeff, shot from film and I scanned the negatives at 4800 DPI. Then resize for here.

Nice capture on the goal. Goalie looks like he's thinking, "now how did he get that past me?"

Thanks for hosting Jeff - I think the POTW thread is now self sustaining excellent Beautiful creamy bokeh on that shot.

Andras - ahh the most famous boats on Pentax Forums - well done.

Scott - beautiful sunsets I love the colors in #1 and the sailboat in #2 if you combine those that would be a perfect shot! Cool star trails as well how long was that exposure ?

Andras - ahhh nector of the gods indeed 10% !!!! Wow strongest beer (other than some home brew cause who knows!) I have had over here is 7% that is one strong brewski !

Photoloady - cool find on the crab - nice detail in the second shot. Nice closeup on the flowers.

Jeff - that is the money shot for sure how do they say it Goooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaallllllll! Well done.

xjjohonno - looks like the crows are having a chat. Like the last two as well.

Denis - wow love the misty / fog shot. well done. That spider web is cool as well. Nice series.

Oche - it's funny what we take shots of - I love the freaky bokeh on the second one.
