Our Assignment for Week 16 changes from the varied focusing techniques of the last two weeks to the genre of Landscapes.
To cut the confusion of what a landscape is, we will use the following for guidance as to landscape and countryside:
landscape
n.
1. An expanse of scenery that can be seen in a single view: a desert landscape.
2. A picture depicting an expanse of scenery.
3. The branch of art dealing with the representation of natural scenery.
countryside
n.
— Syn. rural area, rural district, farmland, woods
(Pictures for week 16 competition to be taken and posted between 20091018 AND 20091025).
NOTE: We have two Seasonal competitions planned for the last two weeks of year two. You may take pictures for these anytime between 20090705 and the posting dates of 20100704 or 20100711. This way you can include your favorite holiday or season whenever it occurs during the year.
Rules:
1. Anyone and everyone who is interested in eligible. The goal continues to be
have fun and share comments, concepts, insights, and techniques with fellow
Pentaxians.
2. Each week will feature a Theme and Sub-concept for you to explore.
3. Post your single picture in Project 52-2 thread for the week. Explain what
motivated you to take the picture and/or how you feel it represents the weekly
theme.
4. Some post-processing is OK (adjusting white balance, exposure, color
saturation), but let's try to stay away from heavily PP'ed images here. Try to
keep the creativity to photographic techniques and the captures themselves.
5. There is one “Theme Concept” labeled “black and white,” but feel free to post
black and white, sepia, monotone, etc., for any of the other themes.
6. The picture you post should be taken during the week in which the theme is
active to be eligible for judging.
7. Any picture taken from 20090705 to listed closing date is acceptable for the
two “Seasonal” competitions – Projects 52-2-51 & 52.

A 4-image pano (handheld, PSE6 stitching) of a local farm along my daily commute. It was one of those gloomy, drizzly days that just seemed to say "Harvest is done, it's going to be damp and gloomy for months now..."
I was going to get off my duff and submit something this week, but my "countryside" has been socked in by constant drizzle and low scudding clouds...not exactly photogenic...
Hi everyone. Found/made time to go out this afternoon. It wasn't as sunny as I had hoped and I expected more different coloured leafes, but still like this overview of the forest-border and the small fields in front of it.
I didn't even notice that this was running. I just happened to take this picture on my way home today. Shame I forgot to turn down the ISO. It was shot at 400.
