It pains me to post this as there is not one photogenic bone in my body. But here goes:

And this for detail:

Very cool effect, Ash! Now, tell us what we're all dying to know: was that taken at 7:18am or 7:18pm?

Like a few others, I am much more comfortable behind the camera than in front. Most of my attempts at this one looked worse than a bad drivers license photo. Oh well. it won't be the first time I've embarrassed myself and probably not the last.

My turn.
I call this one "Fear the Keeper."

I play goalkeeper for a couple of indoor soccer teams and it gets pretty intense back there with the shots coming hard and fast from thisclose. So I was trying out my, um, gameface I guess. In reality I had just gotten a couple mini optical slave strobes and was playing around with them and with some pp work (to make me look not my age )

I've never submitted to one of these before, so here goes nothing. This a self portrait of me doing a self portrait. ermmm yeeah. ;-) (While I was at it, I made a mid air version of this photo that I'm uploading to my smugmug account) Today was my first healthy day, since I was sick most of last weak, and I was feeling goofy.

Montoya, I'm glad to see that you're feeling better and out taking pictures in such gorgeous surroundings!

And a note to everyone else: there's still a little time left to submit your own self-portrait!

(Your photo with hood reminded me strongly of the "red-eyed" evil Anakin picture from "Revenge of the Sith"...sorry for the comparison!)

Nailing the focus with a Manual lense was definitely the hardest challenge for this shot.

"I wear Carharts and shoot Pentax, so should you"

EDIT: BAH! as usual uploading to the web has increased the contrast and de-saturated my pictures once again. Oh well, my entry still stands.

I will play

My first and only attempt...

Please excuse the very obnoxious watermark. I apparently like the subject so much that I erased all the copies of it, so this is from my very lame blog.

Edit: Forgot to add my reasons for taking...somebody's self-portraiture work inspired me to give it a try, but since I don't like the subject all that much, I tried to obscure her.
