Weekly Challenge #116 - Self-Portrait

Weekly Challenge #116 – Self-Portrait

The challenge explained:
It's one of the oldest subjects in art, and now it's time to show us what you can do with you! I'm going to take a very broad interpretation of what counts as a "portrait," i.e. the photo doesn't have to be a standard shoulders-and-head portrait but can include any parts of you or your reflection. Photos will be judged on creativity and execution.

Challenge Starts:
Now!

Challenge Ends:
Wednesday, Nov. 11th @ 11:59pm EST

Results:
Thursday, Nov. 12th

The fine print....
1. Post ONE photo (max 1000x1000).
2. The photo must portray an interpretation of the theme.
3. Post your single picture in this thread, and explain what motivated you to take the picture and/or how you feel it represents the weekly theme
4. The challenge is interactive. Any response is welcome.
5. The judge will pick the WINNERS and chose 1 of them to be the judge for the next week.
6. This challenge runs for 7 days plus a day for the judge to choose the winners.
7. Any Pentax camera will do or a Samsung DSLR.
8. Pictures can be from any time frame, not just within the week of the current theme.

I certainly hope so, Ash. I'm seeing a lot of views and not a whole lot of entries...

In the rules is stated: "8. Pictures can be from any time frame, not just within the week of the current theme."

Thanks for hosting Keitha and as far as I remember you are the master of self portrait so we'd better bring 'em on now.
BTW I'm not into competitions but would love to hear your comments on all our self portraits.

I've done a session lately and it was a good practice. Put the cam on the tripod and some tape on the
floor with the manual lens and then hopping back and forth with the 12 sec. self timer. One of the things
which is really different with digital cause you will always have a look right after the shot and then try
to look something different the next. Don't ask me how many I shot which just look the same .-) I think
this shot reflects the person I am in a certain way - can't really say what it is though.

As Rense stated, the photo can be taken at any time, not just this week! And it looks as though we're off to a good start. Thanks for being the guinea pig, Georg, and I will do my utmost to provide constructive feedback for each participant

I thought I'd give it a try. This is me, well, some parts of me, playing congas. Shot this night with my newly aquired Vivitar 28mm/F2.0 wide angle. PP mainly split tones and cropping in LR2.

DA* 16-50, outstretched arms , hiding in the trees from the biting wind ....

Though the number of entries might be small, at least this competition is garnering some interesting models!
