Some great shots, this series.Particularly like your series, Robin.
That shot of the child on the sand, brilliant composure, think it is the best thus far.
Well done to all!

I've got two so far. Both posted elsewhere in the "lonely lenses club" thread over in the lens forum, but I'm pleased with them so I'll post them here too. Both shots taken on 7/8/08
Henry Moore sculpture, taken early morningish with the lawn sprinkler going in the background. Taken with the Pentax A 35-105 F3.5 and the K10D
Flower macro, and no, I don't know what kind of flower. If anyone knows I'd be grateful, it was unlabeled at NYBG. K10D again but with the Pentax FA 20-35 F4.0
NaCl(that second shot makes me want to blink and rub my eyes)H2O
Hey Max, those are japanese beetles, voracious little critters, what they can do to a rose blossom you don't want to know. One of the worst chores I had as a kid was picking the damn things off my dad's roses and other flowers.

Pretty though, aren't they?

Thanks, Dave....I plan on using the FA50/2X TC combo again. This time I'll add a 20mm extension tube so I can focus a little closer. The 2 pics above a pretty healthy crops. The Bower TC degrades the image a bit, but not as badly as I thought it would.

If you like the outdoors at all, Ireland is wonderful. Stay clear of the cities and close to the coast for a profusion of landscapes any one of which would be worth a visit. Pictures cannot capture the crisp air and unspoilt beauty. Very few sites are "developed" for tourism, though it is starting to happen now (for example, car park at Cliffs of Moher charging 8 euros). I know only the west and south but know that I could spend the rest of my life and not explore their possibilities.

I don't post to this thread very often but I have a short series I took at a local working historical farm (1898) this past Sunday. They hosted an old fashion 4th of July day for the kids which included...
Dave: like your series of birds in flight. A very difficult subject well handled.
Tim : Think that blacksmith shot is a very good shot.
I have been very busy this week, and its been very cold, actually snowed on the mountains just near here (doesnt happen that often and it dont last long).
Freezing wind, so havent ventured out much!
