Thanks to everyone who shared a photo for this week's contest. You certainly didn't make my job easy.

First to some honorable mentions:

I love the colors in this shot. Too bad someone's idea of of aesthetics made them paint it over.

Great use of reflection. I'm amazed at how still the water was. And I'm a sucker for all things Chinese.

Beautiful macro. I love the separation of subject and background, but I wish there was just a little more color contrast between the two.

Great use of space and perception. I really like the minimal colors in this shot.

And the winner is . . .

Simply an incredible image. I love the way the orange seems to be reaching out for the lavender and the different levels in the image. The ant finishes it off with a great touch. It isn't the first thing I saw, but once I saw it my eye is constantly drawn back to it. This is the kind of shot I wish I could take. Great job LaRee.

Hm this seems to have stopped up. Should we consider having someone else host the next one? Maybe LaRee is off on vacation... How about 2nd place?

Ooops! Dang I forgot all about entering this and was asleep at the switch. I've been working so hard on so many photo projects my head is spinning. I am so sorry for lagging!
Thank you for choosing and enjoying this photo. When I saw the little purple wildflower growing next to this California poppy I knew I had to coax it over in place for a shot like this. Then the little ant came along...
I will work on getting another date challenge started right away. And again I appologize for being asleep at the switch!
