Theme: Contest #24, August, 2008

The theme for the PentaxForums.com August Photo Contest is:

Night Scenery

Test your equipment and creativity by taking photographs in near darkness. Take a picture of a scene or object that is in darkness or night. Make sure the photograph gives no hint sunlight or daytime. Creativity and composition is key for this contest.

As usual, please do not post your submissions as replies to this thread! Make a new thread in the submission sub-forum instead!

If this is your first contest, you may be interested in reading the following articles:

Good luck to all participants!

(The poll for the July Contest wil be posted on August 10th. I will be, for the most part, unavailable until then, and am therefore also ending the July contest a day early.)

Ah shucks I'm lagging again. I LOVE night photography! There is still a couple weeks left. I am going to have to carve out some time and think of a place to go for some good/fun night photography. Hmmmm....

uploading files

Why when I upload an image to the gallery, the size of my file shrinks? I'm uploading a 496kb JPEG, but it only comes up as 20kb when I upload it and the picture is quite small. What gives?

Thx.
Joal

PS. This is my first submission.

No sunlight, but I assume man made lighting is allowed? Flashlights, Candles, Streetlights etc.? What of flash? Also, I'm gonna assume it has to be outside

My August 08 Submission for "Night Scenery"

Got mine in tonight.

It has been pretty difficult to get out and photograph anything for the last week or so with Tropical Storm Fay wreaking havoc up here in NE FLA, but I was able to get out tonight for a while in between rain drops.

Hope everyone likes it.

Ray
